I swelled up pretty bad. =0) hehehe... this cracks me up!!! now i AM bigger than billy!!!!

Poor baby had jaundice, so she's laying on a bili blanket--that's the blue light behind her if you look carefully. it shoots out ultraviolet rays. =0(

Students

So, I decided to be a good person and take on the hard load of kids--the ones with the lowest reading score. So, I thought I was all humble and all and then I got them. Now, these kids are actually pretty bright--some of them. Some are going to need some extra help for sure. The one tough thing about them is THEY NEVER SHUT UP. They are constantly talking. I have one boy over there always humming and mumbling. I got a new girl last week who is always reading out loud. I have a boy up front who can't control his yelling impulses. It drives a woman crazy! How am I supposed to teach when I can't even hear myself think!? Anyway, I have been feeling overwhelmed and reconsidering my career. Anyway, today, we were walking back to class and I was watching my class and realized we are making progress!!!! My students actually can walk in a semi-straight line!!! That is a sign!!! I almost cried when I saw how almost straight the students could stand in line, and I thought--I still have hope!!!

And then I thought to myself, dang, that's sad. I get all happy over a straight line???? I guess that's part of teaching?

In Korea

So! at the moment, we are in KOREA! yeah! anyway... two years ago, my family went to korea to do some stuff and we did a lot of fun stuff. hanna took us to some underground shopping place in a subway station. i was wondering where that was! i guess i could just call her, but i'm having problems with the calling card! if anyone has any reccomendations of where to go, let me know!!!

also--we had gone to some like korean wal-mart while we were here. is that lotte mart? e-mart? what was that place!?!? our tour guides keep not wanting to take us there, but there are certain toiletries and kitchen stuff we need! =0) any suggestions is greatly appreciated! =0) hehehe...

oh yeah. we had a first honeymoon--all paid for by a special family member who will remain anonymous. anyway--this family member said we couldn't just go to honduras for a honeymoon, so she paid for us to go to HAWAII!!! AHHHH!!! love that place! =0) special thanks to her!!! =0) just wanted y'all to know the truth! =0)

we went to the aquarium. the aquarium of the pacific here in long beach is definitely better. =0)

billy insisted that he wear a lei everyday we were there. =0) oh yeah! and one morning, he woke me up at 2am to go up the mountain to see the sunrise. have mercy, hawaii is warm yes, but up there?? dang it was FREEZING! and he didn't bring a sweater at all, so he had to wear my ucr sweatshirt!!!! hahah 

of course, we snorkled!!!

they asked for volunteers for the luau and there's my honey up there, learning how to dance! =0)

oh yeah! we rode a helicopter and saw hawaii from up there. it was awesome!!!

these birds were so awesome! they could talk and stuff! they were in the lobby of our hotel! =0)

and we putted in the dark! =0)

we went to a sugar cane factory.

and we jet-skiied. it was awesome!!!!

Went to honduras for a second honeymoon during Christmas and new years!!! =0)

Gave these kids some clothes and toys. They could sure use some!

Poor girl had a BAD case of lice and had to be shaved. She had a bad infection on her neck from the bacteria too. =0/

These kids lived by the dumpster. They had like NO running water whatsoever. They LOVED the toys and clothes we brought for them. My students from my school gave a lot of the clothes! They were so cute. I told my students where i was going for Christmas and New Years and one boy says, "Hey, Mrs. Chang! Could we give you some clothes and toys to give to those kids??" Man, I was thrilled. The next day was the day before break was over and like three kids brought bags of stuff for the kids! i was amazed at how they remembered!!!!

Billy loved the Honduras coconuts. (not so much the hawaii ones).

We went up the mountains to see kids that I knew from years ago.
